In 2006 Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. (BBAC), a 50-50 joint venture between Daimler and its Chinese partner BAIC, commenced local production of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars in Beijing.
Production of the C-Class sedan began in spring 2008. Since May 2010, BBAC has been manufacturing the current E-Class in a long version that is especially adapted to the needs of the Chinese market. In December 2011 the facility began producing a third model: the GLK.
Beginning in 2013, production will be gradually expanded through the addition of three more model series of the new generation of Mercedes-Benz compact cars. Moreover, a new plant will begin manufacturing four-cylinder gasoline engines which will be installed in the locally produced Mercedes-Benz cars and vans. A new R&D Center will also be built; it will primarily conduct vehicle tests, modify vehicles, and engage in R&D activities with suppliers.

AEP, que são feitos em escala na China Ok, más me parece que a oferta de peças é somente local, não podem ser revendias ou exportadas para qualquer outra localidade, isso segundo um importador que conversei outro dia, cujo assunto era carros chineses em especifico o JAC, e que também abordou para a qualidade das mercedes lá produzidas, abs.
