Nova Classe U Conceito: muito além da Classe S

"As many of you already know, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class will soon get not one, but two ultra-luxury versions with an extended wheelbase, one of which will resurrect the Maybach nameplate as a model name, while the other one will carry over the famed Pullman moniker.

Both uber-sedans will use the current Sonder Klasse (Special Class in German) as the base vehicle, which is why their names with also start with S-Class and continue with either Maybach or Pullman.

Until they arrive, a student from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena decided to invent an entirely new segment for Mercedes-Benz, while also creating a concept model for it.

Named Scott Wu Kaiser, the design student created a luxury sedan concept which for some reason he decided to call the Mercedes-Benz U-Class.

While the name may cause some undesired mental connections for certain survivors of World War II (anyone remember the German U-boats?), Scott says that he actually chose the name for an entirely different reason.

The U in U-Class apparently comes from the German word “üppig”, which can be translated as “opulent”, “lavish” or “sumptuous”, which is what the Mercedes-Benz U-Class concept should transpire to the beholder.

Honestly, some of the drawings that lead to the scale model concept look quite good to us, but the overall end-result reminds us more of a sedan version of the ugly Bentley EXP 9 F concept SUV.

In other words, we don't like it at all, but we do appreciate the amount of work that Scott seems to have put into the entire project, going as far as describing the type of people who could be interested in a Mercedes-Benz U-Class".

Sinceramente, que coisa feia.

São apenas esboços, depois o pessoal de estilo melhora.
Deve ser o substituto dos Maybach      

Achei bacana o conceito e a MB deveria de fato ter um modelo desse tipo...foi uma pena o fim dos Maybach.

Mercedes se popularizou para sobreviver mas, acho que seria interessante tentar trazer um pouco de glamour com as referencias que usaram neste esboços, o modelo 'Adenauer' era concorrente da Rolls-Royce e Bentley. Carros, antigamente, de extremo elegância e requinte.

É, realmente a equipe de design tem que dar uma boa melhorada nesse esboço.
